Securus Technologies has introduced a new device that would enable the correctional facilities under their watch to deter and detect drones which are flying near the facility. It has come to the attention of several jail officers that drones are being used by the prisoners to deliver contrabands, and they would never allow it to spark any threats or violence inside the prison. The jail officers contacted Securus Technologies and told them about their discovery. Being their security provider, the management back at the headquarters of Securus Technologies came up with a plan of creating a device that would work like the wireless containment system which they introduced before, which would detect drones and deactivate them. The jail officers believe that not paying attention to these drones would have a deadly consequence, so they have to do something before the problem escalates.
Based on the reports that the jail officers have compiled, the drones are being flown back and forth the prison to deliver illegal contrabands, including drugs, cell phones, and weapons. The jail officers are interrogating those who are caught collecting these contrabands, and all of the contrabands are seized from the prisoners. After receiving the report from the jail officers, Securus Technologies had to do a research study for more than 18 months to develop a product that would counter these threats. They also had to reach out to other tech companies to create a drone detector that would keep the flying machines out of the areas where correctional facilities are built.
The technology that enables a location to detect and deter drones is new to the market. According to Securus Technologies, they are one of the first companies to develop such device, and they are expecting for the technology to develop further. It is an emerging technology, and more experiments will be conducted to discover its other potentials. Securus Technologies is proud to announce that they also had to work with experts in the field, asking them for their insights on how to combat these technological threats. After the initial prototypes are released, Securus Technologies would still work on more research to perfect the device. They knew that there are still things that had to be addressed to counter the rise of contraband inside the prison cells fully, and the jail officers are hoping for some of the inmates to work with them to resolve these cases.
The continued service of Securus Technologies to their customers and clients has always been recognized by award giving bodies, including their recent recognition at the Stevie Awards. Securus Technologies stated that aside from their drone detector, they will continue to work for the benefit of the jail officers, the public, and the inmates for a more secure society.
